Avocado toast with sardines
This toast is full of bright flavors of sardines and other ingredients:
- 1 can of sardines in pure olive oil , drained
- 1 avocado
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 slices of crusty bread, toasted
- Thinly sliced fennel
- Finely chopped red onion
- 1 sprig of fresh dill
- 1 teaspoon of chopped fresh garlic
Method of preparation:
-
Preparing the avocado: Cut the avocado in half and remove the stone. Scoop out the pulp into a bowl. Add lemon juice, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Using a fork, mash the avocado until smooth, leaving a few chunky chunks for texture.
-
Bread preparation: You can lightly rub a sliced clove of garlic on the toasted bread to give it a subtle garlic flavor. This will help highlight all the ingredients and enrich the flavor of the toast.
-
Preparation of toasts: Spread the prepared avocado mass evenly on the slices of toasted bread. Place the sardines on top - you can easily chop them up or leave them in larger pieces if you like.
-
Adding sardines and additional ingredients: Arrange thin slices of fennel, finely chopped red onion, dill sprigs and minced fresh garlic on toast with avocado and sardines.
-
Extra flavor: If you like, you can serve the toast with a lemon wedge so that you can squeeze a little more lemon juice while eating and give the dish a brighter, fresher taste.
-
Serving: Serve the croutons immediately to keep them crisp and fresh. Delicious!
