Portuguese sardine spread with cayenne pepper

You can easily turn a can of sardines into a spicy spread. This is a convenient recipe that's perfect for any quick get-together.

Recipe composition:

1 can of canned sardines without skin and bones. Any of the following products are suitable: Skinless and boneless sardines .

- 100 g sour cream, yogurt or sour cream

- natural lemon juice

- 1 small shallot or other type of garlic, finely chopped

- a small handful of parsley, finely chopped

- a pinch of smoked paprika

- a pinch of cayenne pepper

- a pinch of onion granules

Method of preparation

After removing the sardines, drain them, separate the olive oil into another container. Skinless and boneless sardines are best for making this spread. Mash the sardines lightly with a fork. Mix sour cream, yogurt or sour cream, grate some lemon peel and add a splash of juice, add chopped garlic, parsley and smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and onion granules. Mix with the sardines, and before serving, drizzle the spread with the olive oil left after opening the can of sardines.
